Yes. Because our mouthguards are custom made using a dental mold of your teeth, you will be able to talk perfecty while wearing the mouthguard and also you will be able to breath perfectly.
There are some limitations on what can be put on a custom designed mouthguard, but for the most part, we can put almost any design! But keep in mind that we have a very small amount of space to work with.
All our custom mouthguards are made from Dental Grade Soft EVA Mouthguard material. Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) is a very soft plastic/rubber that easily forms when heated. In addition, the energy absorption properties makes it tough and stress crack resistant. They are Latex and BPA free.
A custom-fit mouthguard is made to fit you and only you by using a dental mould of your teeth. A boil & bite is one size fits all, and everybody’s mouth is unique and different so there’s no way the fit and comfort will compare to a custom-fit mouthguard. Also, the protection you get from custom mouthguard is far superior to anything you can buy off the shelf.
Where the lower jaw bone (Mandibular Condyle) and the socket at the base of the skull (Mandibular Fossa) meet, there are many sensitive nerve endings. When the Condyle head bangs into the Fossa during impact, it can cause those nerve endings to “short circuit” which can result in a knockout or concussion. When wearing a custom mouthguard, the lower jaw cannot close all the way. This creates a small gap between the Condyle and the Fossa that acts as a “bumper.” When an impact occurs, the nerve endings in the Mandibular Fossa are no longer taking the full force of the blow. DISCLAIMER: No matter what type of mouthguard you are using, knockouts and concussions can and will happen.
